Is it right for you?
BasicMailer isn't for everything. Here's what to know before you decide:
A good fit if…
- You have more than one domain or project.
- You want addresses for yourself, your family or a small team.
- You need a simple home for your support address and your app's notification emails.
- You're tired of paying per user.
Not a good fit if…
- You want to send newsletters, campaigns or bulk email.
- You're looking for an office suite with calendars and documents.
- Your team sends hundreds of emails every day.
- You need tens of gigabytes to keep your mail.
Why is it so cheap?
Because we only do email: no calendars, office apps or AI extras. We don't charge per user, show ads or sell your data. Our income is the yearly fee and the extra sending credits some customers buy.
Is it really unlimited?
There's no limit on domains or users. For sending you get 12,000 sending credits a year: each recipient uses 1 credit. They renew every year; if they run out, you can buy more in the dashboard. The hourly and daily sending limits and storage are shared by the whole account.
Can I send newsletters or bulk email?
No. BasicMailer is for everyday email. Notification emails to your own app's users (like password resets) are fine; for newsletters and campaigns, use a newsletter service.
Which apps can I use?
Any app that supports IMAP and SMTP: the mail apps on iPhone and Android, the Gmail app, Outlook, Thunderbird. You can also use webmail in your browser.
My domain is registered elsewhere. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Wherever your domain is registered, it works as long as you can add DNS records. The dashboard shows which records to add and whether they're right.
Can I bring my old email?
New mail arrives at BasicMailer as soon as you switch your DNS records. To move old mail, add both accounts to one mail app and drag the folders across.
What happens when my subscription ends?
Your subscription renews every year; if you cancel, everything keeps working until the end of the paid period. Sending and forwarding to outside addresses stop when it ends. Mail to addresses that only forward outside bounces. Mail to your mailboxes and webmail keep working until day 30, and your data is deleted no earlier than day 90. We email you before each step, and renewing before deletion brings everything back as it was.
How do I pay, and do I get an invoice?
By card, through Polar. As the merchant of record, Polar issues the invoice and handles tax. Your invoices and card details are on the Usage & billing page.
