If your domain uses Namecheap's DNS (BasicDNS, PremiumDNS or FreeDNS), you add BasicMailer's records in Namecheap's Advanced DNS tab. Copy the values from your domain's page in the BasicMailer dashboard; what each record does is explained in Email DNS records.

Open the Advanced DNS tab

  1. Sign in to Namecheap and select Domain List in the left sidebar.
  2. Select Manage next to your domain.
  3. Open the Advanced DNS tab.

You add the TXT and CNAME records under Host Records with Add New Record, and the MX record under Mail Settings. Save your changes after each record.

@ in the Host field means the domain itself. For hosts like bm1._domainkey, don't add your domain at the end; Namecheap adds it.

1. MX record

  1. In the Mail Settings section, choose Custom MX from the dropdown.
  2. Add a record: Host @, Value mx.basicmailer.com, Priority 10.
  3. Remove any other MX records and save.
Dikkat

Make sure there's no CNAME record for the bare domain (@) under Host Records. Namecheap notes that such a CNAME overrides the MX records and breaks mail delivery.

2. Ownership record (TXT)

Under Host Records, Add New Record:

  • Type: TXT Record
  • Host: @
  • Value: the basicmailer-verification=… value from the dashboard

3. SPF record (TXT)

  • Type: TXT Record
  • Host: @
  • Value: v=spf1 include:spf.basicmailer.com ~all

If there's already a TXT record starting with v=spf1, edit it and add include:spf.basicmailer.com before ~all instead of adding a second one.

4. DKIM record (TXT)

  • Type: TXT Record
  • Host: bm1._domainkey
  • Value: the full v=DKIM1; k=rsa; p=… value from the dashboard
  • Type: TXT Record
  • Host: _dmarc
  • Value: v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; rua=mailto:dmarc@basicmailer.com

6. Automatic setup record (CNAME, optional)

  • Type: CNAME Record
  • Host: autoconfig
  • Value: autoconfig.basicmailer.com

7. Outlook automatic setup record (SRV, optional)

Choose SRV Record and enter the values shown in the dashboard: service _autodiscover, protocol _tcp, priority 0, weight 0, port 443, target autodiscover.basicmailer.com.

Check

Namecheap says new records normally take about 30 minutes to take effect. Then go back to your domain's page in the BasicMailer dashboard and select Check DNS records.
